Mike Schmidt had another pretty good year in 1982. He hit 35 HR (3rd in league), had 87 RBIs, and hit for a .280 average. He lead the league in OBP (.403), slugging (.547), runs scored (78), total bases (228) and walks (107). He won a the Gold Glove and Silver Slugger awards and was named to the All-Star Team. He was only 6th in MVP voting. The NL MVP went to Dale Murphy of the Braves. The Phillies finished in 2nd place with an 89-73 record, 3 games behind the World Series winning Cardinals.
Donruss
Donruss featured Mike on two cards, one with team mate Pete Rose. Note that this card is labeles "Phillies Finest".
Fleer
What a terrible picture.
Schmidt with a couple of awards. One is the Gold Glove. I'd guess the other is the Silver Slugger.
The back of the card lists their 1980 awards, Schmidt as World Series MVP, Smith as 1980 Rookie of the Year and Carlton as the Cy Young winner. Smith was on the Cardinals in 1982, where he got his 2nd World Series ring.
Topps
Card #100.
For the big stars in 1982, Topps had these "in action" cards numbered right after their regular card.
The 4 AL players tied with 22 homers. Schmidt had 35 in 1981.
Topps Stickers
Looks like the same pose as the Topps Home Run Leaders card.
Silver foil All-Star sticker.
Kmart
Topps produced these cards for Kmart's 20th anniversary. They featured past Topps cards of the players.
