Today is my first son's 28th birthday. And yes, he was born on Friday the 13th. I thought I'd highlight players born in his birth month.

2008 Bowman Draft Prospects Gold #68 Jesus Delgado

 Delgado pitched 2 innings for the Marlins in 2008 and hasn't appeared in a major league game since.

2011 Topps Chrome Refractors #179 Marcus Mateo

Mateo is 1-3 with the Cubs in 2010-2011. He appears to still be with the club but I don't know if he's on their opening day lineup.

2010 Upper Deck #32 Kyle Phillips

Phillips has had 44 AB with the Blue Jays and Padres since 2008. In January, he was resigned by the Jays.

2007 Fleer #190 Ambiorix Burges

Bergues went 8-10 with the Cubs and Mets in 2005-2007 but hasn't pitched in the major leagues since April 2007. He appears to be out of baseball since 2010 when he pitched for a Dodger single-A team.

2009 Topps Update #176 Diory Hernandez

Hernandez appeared in about 25 games each year for the Braves the past 3 seasons. He is currently in the Astros minor league system.


2007 Upper Deck Future Stars Rookie Dated Debut Alejandro De Aza

After 4 years of limited major league play, De Aza was on the White Sox opening day roster.

2004 Bowman Draft Picks Signs of the Future Adam Loewen

Loewen was the Orioles #1 pick (and 4th pick overall) in 2004. He looked to be a solid pitching prospect for the Orioles when injuries ended his pitching career in 2008. Last year he appeared in the outfield with the Blue Jays.

2005 Bowman Draft Picks Chrome X-Factor #93 Jed Lowrie

After 3 years with the Red Sox, Lowrie was traded to the Astros last November.

2009 Topps Update #79 Robert Andino

At 28, Andino is in his 8th season. He's a middle infielder who became a regular player last year for the Orioles.
