Maybe it's turning 60, but old songs have been on my mind. I found a number of videos of Stewart doing this song recently and it doesn't work. This is a young man's song.
This song is from his solo album Every Picture Tells A Story. We used to always think that the chorus of the title track was "Every picture tells a story donuts". We wanted to buy story donuts in the worst way.

Now we're talking!
This is one song I'd be happy to never hear again. Maybe it's because I was 5 when it came out and there's no connection. Then it was played to death as I was growing up and all the way into adulthood, and I just can't deal with it anymore.
When this song came out I was 19 years old and in college. You can imagine that my experience of the song was different than Night Owl's. I am no fan of Rod Stewart. This is the only album of his I own or would consider buying.
