Song of the Week - The Old Apartment by Barenaked Ladies

This song, released in 1997, was the band's first American hit. It is on their breakthrough album Born On A Pirate Ship. Although this is a favorite album of mine, and this is one of my favorite songs  on the album, I'd never seen the video for it. I always thought the lyrics were hard to follow. The singer seemed almost mad with grief, yet at the same time professed to be happy.

The video and the Wikipedia article about the song show me I had the wrong interpretation. It's still a good song however.
