Topps Worthless Website

Just a little rant here.

Does anyone understand why Topps.com is completely worthless?

The latest release they have on the site is 2010 Topps Series 1 baseball, which came out 14 months ago.

Their release calendar shows nothing coming out.

The search function does absolutely nothing.

Have they just abandoned this site? Is there some other website they maintain to get information about their releases?

Weirdly enough, I get most of my information from www.baseballcardpedia.com. It seems accurate enough and is really up to date on newly released stuff. Not as flashy as Topps' website but all the info is there.

Topps might as well abandon its site because collectors have. I haven't looked at it in at least a year.

It's much easier getting info from baseballcardpedia.com or other sites (even beckett).

Topps has a blog and is on Twitter, but you can't really find out checklist/set info from those sites.

Topps still uses computers with punch cards so updating their website takes about 4 years. Oh that and they just don't seem to care.

This is one of the many reasons why I miss Upper Deck. Their website had up to date info and current checklists. In most instances, they also had pictures. Topps does not have any of these.

Thanks for the comments, especially about baseballcardpedia. I've been relying on Beckett.com information concerning the number of cards in a base set or insert set. It was slow and the site was unstable but the information was there. They have tremendously improved the speed and stability of the site but made it harder to figure out how many cards are in a set. baseballcardpedia lays it all out.
