Thursday Night at the Movies - 9

I think we only saw the trailer for this movie once but it looked intriguing. The local paper gave it a good review so we decided to see it.The movie is an animated feature about a post-apocalyptic world in which mankind has destroyed itself and, apparently, all life. Running around in this world are small doll like creatures with numbers on their backs. There are 9 of them. 9 himself is in the picture above. In order to survive, they must fight one of the war machines which destroyed humanity. We both liked it. The animation is wonderful. It's not 3-D computer animation like a Pixar film, but old fashioned flat, 2-d animation. 9 is voiced by Elijah Woods. Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer and Jennifer Connelly also lend their voices. The genre is very steampunk. Although it is an animated movie it is not meant for little kids. There are a number of scenes which I think would be very frightening to young children.
